This property is located in the Deux Sevres region of France famous for its beautiful countryside and village markets. The closest town is Menigoute at 1 minutes drive.  Closest airport is Poitiers – 40 minutes. Other airports include Nantes and La Rochelle both 90 minute drive.  Nearest channel port is St Malo - 3 hours, Caen - 4 hours, Le Havre -5 hours, Calais and Boulogne - 6 hours . Eurotunnel - 6 hrs.

Set amidst one and a half hectares of French countryside, La Roche du Lac is a recently renovated pretty stone cottage. Traditional features include the original stone bread oven.  The large garden is very tranquil and private and will have a brand new swimming pool in 2009. 

La Roche du Lac is a calm and peaceful spot … your only neighbours are the sheep .. the only sounds you will hear are the birds singing.  The nearest village is an easy 10 minute walk while a 30 second walk along a quiet country lane takes you to a beautiful lake perfect for picnics and fishing.  There is a superb restaurant across the footbridge. There is also a children’s playground and mini golf course. For the serious golfer, Chateau des Forges boasts a 27 hole course and is less than 15 minutes drive.
